Studio is where contributors write. This guide covers the whole path: opening a draft, writing it in blocks, filing it under the taxonomy, and submitting it for review.
Studio is the authoring workspace inside Haiyz. It is available to accounts holding the author or reviewer role, and it carries a section for each content type — lessons, projects and open data among them. This guide covers the two that carry the platform's written knowledge.
Articles
Long-form GIS knowledge — tutorials, case studies and technical guides, written in a block editor.
News
Short, timely updates linked to a primary source, filed at a single taxonomy node.
Once approved, Studio appears in your account navigation and you can open the editor directly.
An article is created in two steps: its metadata first, then its content.
Choose New Article in Studio and fill in the essentials:
Saving the metadata opens the editor. Build the piece from blocks in the Content tab; the language toggle switches between the Arabic and English versions.
Use Save Content in the top bar to send your work to the server.
Every paragraph, heading, code sample, table and figure is a block that can be reordered, duplicated or removed on its own.
Bilingual authoring is first class. The Arabic and English versions are separate fields on the same piece, and each saves on its own.
News is short and sourced: a GIS release, a regional event, a published result.
In Studio, switch to News and choose New News to open the form.
Two to five blocks is the usual shape: what happened, why it matters, and the source.
Private to you. Nothing is visible to readers, so edit freely.
In the editorial queue. A reviewer with expertise in the subject reads it next.
Live and attributed to you, delivered from the CDN and findable at its taxonomy path.
Publishing is not a button you press alone — it is the end of the review path.
Every article is filed at a full three-level path. Choosing it well is what makes the piece findable long after it is published.
Each node has a stable id beginning with tx_. Studio shows the id under your selection, so you can confirm you filed the piece where you meant to.
Publish in both languages
A short, adapted Arabic version reaches a readership the English one does not.
Use code blocks for code
Set the language on the block: readers get highlighting and a copy button.
Break long passages
A quote or a note block gives a wall of text somewhere to breathe.
Keep descriptions tight
Under two hundred characters. The description is what a card and a search result show.
Stay in draft until it is ready
Review is for finished work. Submitting early costs a round trip.
